Grr!

Sometimes, you wake up in the morning and you just know that it's a good day for a bear suit, you know?

Until she learned how to wave last week, Louisa greeted people and tried to get their attention by  tilting her head to the side. This is remarkably effective.  If they didn't respond quickly enough, she would keep tilting until her head touched the floor. Baby will not be ignored!

Bear suit mornings happen more often than you might think at our house.

Alpha Dog

Louisa intimidated Copper into giving her his breakfast.

He didn't even touch the bits that she scattered on the floor.

Mmm...dehydrated offal!

Yes, it's true. I did let this go on long enough to grab my camera and snap a few photos. I promise that I fished the kibble bits out of her mouth. And I'm reasonably sure that I got most of the pieces out before she swallowed them.

The Frost Building

Waaay back in April, the kids and I went on an outing - per Fletcher's request- to visit the Frost building. It's basically a giant bank building that has been likened to a huge glass nose clipper, but I sort of love it.

Fletcher brought his camera so he could take a picture of the art installation. He may not know a lot about fine art, but he knows what he likes.

The revolving doors were good for about ten minutes of entertainment.
The security guard wouldn't let us ride in the elevator (I'm still kind of cranky about it), so we consoled ourselves with scones at the coffeeshop.

Then we engaged in some athletic art appreciation before we made our way home.

The theme of this post is: "Pictures I Took with My Phone".

Louisa's first time sitting up in a shopping cart. All the better to stare at people until they stop whatever they're doing and come talk to her.

She's a little bath-phobic, so we've been doing some hydrotherapy on the back porch.

Fletcher refreshed my pedicure for me.

This right here? This is why we had a second kid.

Fletcher loves to make lemonade, though he's not all that fond of drinking it. We're going to teach him how to make margaritas next.

Fletcher and I went out for a date one morning, and since we didn't bring Louisa, we had an extra carseat available. After a quick stop at the post office (where they gave Fletcher a lollipop), we strolled by the fire station...

...just in time to see the fire fighters washing the truck.

That's right, lollipop AND firetruck. And our date had only just begun! Could it get any better?

Yes, it could! Vegan double chocolate muffin at Quack's. Because that's how we do breakfast around here when we're out on a date. He's wearing one of the many stickers given to us by the firefighters when they gave us our private tour of the firestation.

We finished our date at "the jumpy castle place", aka "Kidz N Play". We played trains...

...and climbed...

...and slid with G-Doll!

We've also enjoyed some more low-key adventures in our own front yard.

And sometimes the backyard, just to keep it interesting.

New York, Part 1

We visited Grandma and Papa for a few days before we went to London. May is an ideal time to be in New York, because you might get to see...

...goslings! Right there in the back yard.

And a chipmunk, which is an exotic animal to a young Texan.

Spring is also a great time to jump from great heights...

...or just kick back for a while.

Rolling down the hill...usually more fun in theory than in practice.

Walking a contemplative path along the drainage gravel, probably pretending to be a train.

Louisa's first time in a high chair - I think (okay, I know) she appreciates the increased access to silverware and other things to drop.

She also enjoys things that could be consumed, like camera phones.

Can you believe our luck? Our rental car,  Black Jeep, was a cousin of beloved Jeep, our rental car in Charlottesville.

Papa's headgear/bike helmet decoration = solid entertainment.
