San Pedro, Part 1

We went to California for a few days for our friends Ryan and Stacy's wedding. The wedding was at a resort in lovely Rancho Palos Verdes; we stayed in a nearby condo so the boy would have room to roam.

We went for walks.

We went whale-watching.

We chased each other in the park.

We went to the Cabrillo Aquarium.

Fletcher is the cutest Bluebanded Goby I personally have ever seen.

It's taken some practice, but he has really improved his "I'm being eaten alive by a large animal" expression.

While strolling in San Pedro, we stumbled upon a Disney movie set. It was supposed to be an abandoned, falling-down amusement park, which made it naturally compelling for a two year old, and slightly terrifying to his parents (and to the security guards).

We also saw a fountain made by the same team that made the Bellagio casino fountains. Fletcher is a big fan of their work.

Sunrise as seen from our condo balcony.

So peaceful, right? But meanwhile...

...in retrospect, it might not have been the best choice on my part to leave Fletcher alone in the kitchen with a stepladder and an open packet of instant hot cocoa while I took pictures of the sunrise.

For what it's worth, it was 5:30 in the morning and the coffee had not finished brewing.

Please note the cocoa powder on his shoulders.

And of course, we hit the beach.

The water was cold, but he was unstoppable.
