Charlottesville, Part 1

Last weekend, we went to Charlottesville for a wedding.

Kranshie awake on the plane...

...and Kranshie asleep.

This is the adorable bungalow we stayed in.

Fletcher immediately claimed this room. It's purple, you see. Given the option, he will always choose purple over all other choices. Unless one of the choices is chocolate.

We went for a hike on the Appalachian trail in Shenandoah. He was the self-proclaimed "Adventure Leader" - the family member who makes all the big decisions (right or left?) on a hike.

The sign says that we climbed a mountain, and I, for one, choose to believe it.

The view from the top of the mountain.

There was a very interesting rock on the way down, so we stopped a while.

It was a great rock.

On the way down, Fletcher began to worry about our rental jeep that we had left in the parking lot. He thought that it might feel lonely as there weren't any other cars around to keep it company while we were gone.  This wasn't just any vehicle - Fletcher had given it a name. Its name is "Jeep".

Reunited and it feels so good!

We made a friend!

We went on a small side trip to Fletcher, Virginia. Pictured: the entirety of the town. The boy was a little let down.

White Puppy thought it was awesome anyway.  She's loyal like that.

The good people of Charlottesville just leave cherry picker trucks lying around where three year olds can help themselves. Thanks, guys!

Also in Charlottesville: an antique carousel that was just Fletcher's speed. The horses are small, they don't go up and down, and the whole thing only goes as fast as his Mama can push it.
